Connect2Kent wins Business of the Year

A couple of weeks ago, Commercial Services Group hosted their first-ever Annual Awards and Summer Party, a chance to bring the divisions together to celebrate the successes of the past 12 months and thank employees for their dedication and amazing work. Connect2Kent were honoured to have been nominated for Business of the Year, and we're thrilled to have won! We caught up with the Business Manager, Amy Berry, to reflect on the success and see what’s to come.

How do you feel having won Business of the Year at the inaugural CSG Awards event?

I am extremely pleased and honoured that we have received this award. This is a great achievement for Connect2Kent, and we all feel very proud to be recognised as Business of the Year across all of the successful businesses within Commercial Services Group.

What has been the highlight of the past year for you?

It has to be working with the Home Office to support Asylum Seekers coming into the UK. This has been a very rewarding project for myself and the team, alongside onboarding nearly 200 Support Workers to fill these temporary assignments.

Were there any challenges in the past year and how did you and the team overcome them?

The biggest challenge would be the very tight timescales we had to be able to fill the temporary roles for the Home Office. We needed to get our new agency workers fully compliant and on-site working as quickly as possible. Luckily, we received an amazing response for these positions and many experienced Support Workers were very keen to help. The C2K team really pulled together to meet the expectations of our new client, and with the help of extra temporary resources we have recruited internally to the C2K team, we have been able to manage this project and continue to meet the service requirements of our shareholder, Kent County Council.

Has the team got any exciting plans for the next 12 months?

C2K will continue to maintain great working relationships with our key client, KCC, and the Home Office. As proven over the last few years with the successful projects we have worked on, C2K are able to react and achieve our clients' requirements effectively. It’s safe to say there’s a lot in store for us and we look forward to what the future holds!
