Why it's the best time to be a Qualified Social Worker in South Kent

My role at Connect2Kent is to manage recruitment in South Kent for all locum Qualified Social Work vacancies and to also oversee permanent recruitment for the Specialist Children’s Project.

It’s a busy time of year for South Kent recruitment and we have vacancies across Ashford, Folkestone and Dover. We’re proud to offer all our candidates a full range of benefits, so here’s just a few reasons to work with us at Connect2Kent:

-We are the first point of contact for all hiring managers as we are the managed service for temporary and contract recruitment into Kent County Council across all sectors

-We have access to all Social Care roles, both unqualified and qualified, before our suppliers

-We are partnered with Elevate Training and Development offering a flexible and specialist online training/continuous professional development (CPD) portal

-We provide a friendly, reliable and trustworthy service

I am always on the lookout for Social Workers who are interested in working in KCC as a locum or permanent member of staff, so please contact me for an open, honest and confidential discussion.

Below is a quote from the Shepway Children in Care team explaining why it’s a great place to work!

The Shepway Children in Care Team need a social worker to join our Team in January 2018. The team consists of practitioners who have a wealth of experience in working in all areas of practice involving our children in care. The team of Social Workers have been together for some time now and have recently welcomed Vicki, Terry and Sally as our admin support who are a much welcomed and appreciated addition.

Locums working in South Kent are very much valued and integrated into the work force with opportunities being available for development and training. South Kent provides flexibility in regard to the location from which a locum SW could base themselves, such as Ashford. Ashford offers great motorway links to the M20 with Maidstone and South London being under an hour’s drive from home to work.

The Shepway Children in Care Team is very passionate about the work that we do with our children in wanting to help them achieve and succeed in life and be happy. We focus very much on the relationships that we have with our children, building on this to help them make the right choices in their lives. Each staff member is very supportive of the other; helping each other out, knowing in return they too will receive support from their colleagues when needed. The work is varied and interesting and involves in depth assessments with children, their families, foster carers and adopters.

The Shepway Children in Care Team is part of a larger service including other Children in Care Teams, an Adolescent Team, Fostering Service and partner agencies from Health and Education.  We see ourselves very much as part of a wider family offering a well-resourced bespoke service. The service fully embraces and involves itself in exciting events such as a Christmas Party, Easter Egg Hunt and Summer Festival as well as events celebrating the achievements of our children and young people and their foster carers.

We are very proud of what we achieve, so come and join us and in so doing also experience success as a social worker in Kent’s Children’s Services.
