Connect2Kent 2022: Year in Review
2022 is drawing to a close, and what a year we’ve had! So much has happened that we wanted to share with you before we leap into the new year. We caught up with Business Manager, Amy Berry, to reflect on the past 12 months and look to the future.
What has been Connect2Kent’s highlight of 2022?
It must be Connect2Kent winning ‘Business of the Year’ at our first Commercial Services Awards this summer. To win this award knowing what amazing achievements other businesses within Commercial Services have achieved this year, has been very empowering for myself and the team, I am very proud of the whole team. It has been a tough, but great year for Connect2Kent and it is amazing to have that recognition for our hard work, and of course the team day out we were awarded was a bonus and great for us to let our hair down and celebrate together.
Plus, Commercial Services Group Recruitment Division won Best Public/Third Sector Recruitment Agency at the Recruiter Awards this year! This is a testament to our collaborative partnership with local authorities, and we'd like to thank everyone for their support!
What recruitment challenges have you faced this year, and how have you overcome them?
Our main challenge has been finding Qualified Social Workers for locum positions in Kent, this has always been a tough market, but this year has been exceptionally difficult as more locum Social Workers are worried about job security, especially now because of the cost-of-living crisis. Connect2Kent are working with hiring managers to discuss flexibility within different teams and what we can offer candidates to attract them to Kent over other local authorities.
What plans do Connect2Kent have for 2023?
Connect2Kent will continue to grow, we are currently recruiting new talent to join the C2K team due to internal promotions and additional headcount to ensure we are delivering the best service to Kent County Council.
